United in Service. Rooted in Community
Every year, on the Friday before the Magic City Classic, members of Birmingham’s National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), affectionately known as the Divine Nine, come together for a purpose greater than sports, rivalry or history.
Before the celebrations begin, we gather to serve.
Greeks in the Streets is an annual Z Stay Foundation Initiative that unites members of all nine historically Black Greek-letter organizations in a citywide effort to support individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability throughout Birmingham.
Together, we take to the streets to distribute essential supplies, share resources and remind our neighbors that they are seen, values and not forgotten. Because service has always been at the heart of the Divine Nine. From hygiene kits and clean clothing to bottles water, snacks and resource information, every item shared is an opportunity to restore dignity, build connection and offer hope.
This initiative is more than an outreach event- it’s a demonstration of what is possible when organizations with a shared commitment to service unite around one common missions; strengthening our community.
